This is our record of KIWI soldiers who served in Vietnam but not with the New Zealand Forces.
They are mainly with the Australian Forces and also the United States Forces.
From May 1962 until April 1975 approximately 61,000 personnel served in the Australian Forces in Vietnam. Of those a large number of Australian Service Personnel were originally from New Zealand. They vary in all three forces and in many units of the forces. Eventually this list was found. Included amongst these names are all ranks including:

CARTER David and Donald twin brothers RAAF - ROTORUA
Lieutenant Commander Bowles - TE PUKE

other service personnel come from places such as - HOKITIKA – ONEHUNGA – HAWERA – OAMARU – NGARUAWAHIA – OTAKI – WAIPUKURAU from everywhere up north down to Invercargill and includes some with honours such as:

The book titled "New Zealand's Vietnam War" by Ian Mc Gibbon states 184 Australian Service Persons are KIWI - our source states 191.
SEVEN UNITED STATES servicemen who served in Vietnam were from New Zealand - THREE of whom have their names appear on the wall. They are listed below.

Brian PILMER – US Marine (Pilot) 1969 USS Tripoli - GISBORNE
Both Errol Palmer and Brian Pilmer attended CCNZ in Hamilton during the early 1960's. As the author of this site I know them both personally having also attended CCNZ at the same time. I have met with Brian on occasions and discussed much about Vietnam with him.
Brian's brother is Murray Pilmer, served in the NZ Army now retired in Napier..
